Have you ever walked into a great museum, palace or villa and been struck by how many of the doors line up like soldiers? One room leading to another and another creating a mysterious sense of distance and space. You catch glimpses of other rooms far away. I think that enfilades have an odd fairytale quality about them. A little menacing and a sense of pending surprise.
These pieces are made from deep acrylic boxes that I made to accommodate the frames I used. Each box is about 3 to four inches deep and I create many layers of clear resin and carefully cut out images. I cut every image out with a scalpel trying to keep every detail. Takes forever.
